Price and design fee
What does it cost, and what exactly are you paying for?
Marcottestyle charges no percentage design fee on the project cost when you have the entire project executed by us with articles from our collection. Below is what that means in practice.
What does an interior architect cost at Marcottestyle?
The first consultation and the budget estimate are free. If you have the interior executed by us with articles from our collection, we charge 0 % design fee on the project cost. You pay the architectural file and what you actually order.
When does that 0 % not apply?
For building works carried out by our subcontractors, a 10 % fee applies. If you choose your own contractors, or for articles we cannot purchase directly, the rate is 16 %. All percentages are excluding VAT.
Is there a margin on the furniture prices?
No. We add no design margin on furniture prices. We buy directly from the manufacturer or produce in our own workshop, and that is the price you get.
Can I stop if it does not go ahead after all?
Yes. After the first file you can stop following the first presentation, taking the design without dimensions, against 2 % on the quotation or the stated budget for that file, with a minimum of 500 euros excluding VAT. From the second file onwards it is 2.5 % per file, with a maximum of 16 %.
Can I get the reduced 6 % VAT rate?
If your home is more than ten years old and is mainly used as a private residence, the reduced 6 % rate may apply to building works. We provide the certificate and check per project what qualifies. It does not apply to loose furniture.
The process
How does a project run from conversation to handover?
How long does a complete project take?
From the first conversation to handover, a complete project takes three to six months on average, depending on the scale and the lead times of the bespoke work.
Can I see my interior in advance?
Yes. You receive CAD plans with exact dimensions and a photorealistic 3D of every room, with the real materials. Samples are ready at the meeting. Nothing is ordered until everything is right.
How many times can I have the design adjusted?
Until it is right, with a maximum of fifteen revisions across the whole process. In practice far fewer are needed, because the 3D settles most questions in advance.
Can I have just one room done?
Yes, and that is the rule rather than the exception. From a single bathroom, kitchen or dressing room to a whole house: you decide how far we go. We also fully furnish hospitality and offices.
Who coordinates the site?
We do. Ordering, logistics, planning and installation run through one point of contact. For larger building works we cooperate with a fixed contractor.

Bespoke work, delivery and aftercare
What happens after the order?
What is the lead time?
That depends entirely on what you choose. Most pieces are made to order or bespoke, so the time varies by piece and by finish. The quotation states the lead time per item, so you know it before you decide.
Do you make the bespoke work yourselves?
The bespoke furniture comes from our own workshop with modern machinery. Loose furniture, lighting and textiles come from selected brands, bought directly without middlemen.
Do you deliver and install as well?
Yes. Delivery and installation are handled by our own fixed team of installers, who know our designs and standards. We deliver throughout Europe.
What guarantee do I get?
You have the statutory two-year guarantee. Solid wood, leather, linen and wool are natural products: colour variation, grain and the patina that comes with the years belong to the material and are not defects. On delivery you receive a care sheet per material.
What if something goes wrong afterwards?
After handover come an evaluation and an aftercare plan. We remain reachable on the same number, with the same contact person as during the project.

Showroom and working area
Where can you see us, and where do we work?
Can I just drop by?
Our showrooms are open by appointment only, Monday to Saturday between 9 am and 6 pm. Get in touch beforehand and the right samples will be ready.
What do your showrooms look like?
Not like a furniture shop. They are furnished as real villas, with complete living spaces rather than isolated displays. You immediately see how materials, colours and proportions come together.
Do you also work outside Belgium?
We work throughout Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, France and Luxembourg, and across Europe for complete projects. Measuring, 3D, production and installation stay in our own hands.
Can I buy furniture only?
Yes. Through our webshop you order furniture, lighting and rugs without a design process. Advice is always available.
Is your question not listed?
